{My Most Humble Collections #1}
The items that I have been anticipating for has reached me yesterday! Never have I received anything on a Sunday but because Chinese New Year is around the corner, the postal service company have decided to turn to the weekends to deliver items door-to-door to avoid delays coming up due to the festival and the long holiday periods.
Last December, without thinking twice, I went for the kill to get these 2 rare collector's items upon seeing a post from the The Official Ronnie James Dio Fan Page in Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1148757571954.23822.1618021437&type=1#!/OfficialRonnieJamesDio. I ended up buying an Elf Deluxe Limited Edition Numbered Picture Disc LP for myself and for my boyfriend, a 2XL Ronnie James Dio Memorial T-shirt with the "Long Live Rock 'N' Roll" logo at the back and featured on the front is an intricately sketched picture of Ronnie with the word R.I.P written at the bottom. As for the LP, I got mine at 0132 from a series of 2,500.
The back of the LP that features the whole band looks slightly 3D to me. There are also engravings on each side. The ones on the front has an engraving that reads, "Bob's Your Uncle" and the back as, "Sally's Your Aunt". They are very very interesting indeed. The moment I received the t-shirt, I got it wrapped neatly. I knew that I definitely cannot wait too long for any upcoming special occasions and so I gave it to my dearest as a very surprised gift on the day itself where he least expects it. I went to his music studio in the evening and I hid the gift in a very unlikely place and made him do treasure hunting. It was a very successful plan...Yay! When he saw the gift, how he felt after that was history.
I thought I had splurged my money unnecessarily on these but I realised that I have really made the right choice to invest on these collector's items. I am so grateful having to own these and I am grateful that my dearest, being a big Dio fan, gets to own a piece of Ronnie's t-shirt to himself and for himself to keep. We could still remember that time when Dio passed away from stomach cancer, it was absolutely the saddest day for all of the Heavy Metal community worldwide. R.I.P Dio and thank you so much for all the beautiful music you have made which has really influenced not only the old, but to the young listeners like me : )
So back to these rare stuff, they are only selling 2,500 limited copies of the Elf Deluxe Limited Edition Numbered Picture Disc LPs and the Ronnie James Dio Memorial t-shirts are still available in various sizes in their webstore.
100% of all proceeds from the sale of the t-shirt will go to the Cancer Research Fund.
I think a new webstore is currently in the work and no updates on the new link is given yet though, but you can still get them at http://www.officialronniejamesdiowebstore.com/ Labels: Dio, Elf, LP, Rainbow, Ronnie James Dio, The Official Ronnie James Dio Fan Page
